Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a remote volunteer position?

Yes. Squawk Global is a digital-first platform. All of our advocacy, research, and creative roles are remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the world

Do I need to own a parrot to get involved?

Not at all. While many of our team members are ethical guardians, we welcome anyone with a passion for conservation, media, or systemic change. We value skills in research, editing, and outreach as much as avian experience.

How much time do I need to commit?

We have roles ranging from 1–2 hours per week (Community Moderation) to 6–10 hours per week (Campaign Coordination).

Can I share my rescue story through Squawk Global?

Absolutely. We are always looking for “Unfiltered Stories” that expose the reality of the parrot trade. If you have a story that can help educate others, please select “Share a Story” on our Contact page.

Do I need technical skills to help?

Not necessarily. While we are a social-first platform, we have plenty of roles that happen “off-screen,” such as Fact-Checking, Research, and Grant Support. If you can use a computer and have a passion for the mission, we can find a place for you. We also provide guidance on the tools we use (like Notion and Airtable).

Will I get “credit” or a reference for my volunteer work?

Absolutely. We track volunteer contributions and are happy to provide letters of recommendation, LinkedIn endorsements, or community service hours for students and professionals who consistently contribute to the mission.
